Musician, songwriter, producer and pastor, Kevin has been making music and, together with his wife, Diane, ministering in South Africa and internationally for over 30 years.
When Kevin met Diane she was a committed Christian. It did not take long before Kevin realized his need to give his life completely to the Lord and he joined Diane, actively serving in their local church as a Sunday school teachers and worship leaders.
Kevin and Diane married and had three sons, Brendon, Gareth and David. They discovered in the Word that the whole story had begun with a group of people, the Jews, and, according to the final book, they were still very much a part of His plan. Kevin decided to find out more by attending the local synagogue. Fully aware that he had no intention of converting to Judaism, the family were welcomed into the congregation. Kevin spent three years learning much about the Jewish culture to prepare him for the family’s trip to Israel, as they felt the need to encourage those who believed in Jesus. They sold their newly-built home and took their three young sons, their school books, Kevin’s guitar and a baby pram and lived there over a two-year period. They met the local Believers and visited all the fellowships, ministering as a family whenever they had the opportunity. Kevin and Diane Knott |
The Knott familyWhen they returned to South Africa, they became active members of the local church before starting Apples of Gold Ministries in their home in 1998.
The Apples of Gold meetings have always had a distinct sense of family which is not unlike the Friday night Shabbat meetings in most Jewish homes. Kevin and Diane love to encourage, nurture and equip each person to serve the community with what the Lord has placed in their hearts. Music and worship has always played a huge role in their lives and, during their meetings, Kevin allows space for the Holy Spirit to speak during the worship, which is never hurried. They have many testimonies of healings taking place during worship. Kevin’s worship and preaching ministry has taken him to Namibia, Germany, Switzerland, Slovakia, Poland, Israel, Jordan, Eqypt, Holland and Italy. The meetings grew from their home and Apples of Gold now meets in the conference room at the Ocean Breeze Hotel, Beach Road, Strand. The family grew, too, and Kevin and Diane now have two daughters-in-law, Ursula and Janina and grandchildren, Liam, Tehila, Rahel and James. |
